It is Linda’s greatest joy being a member of Seaside’s
practitioner team. She is totally committed to praying with
beloved congregants and looks forward to assisting them in
any way that she can.
Linda’s many years of experience and knowledge began as a
psychology student at New York University. There she was
called to assist the clinical supervisor in leading groups
at the Adolescent Remand Detention Center at Rikers Island
Prison. While listening to the people’s stories, she saw a
direct correlation between their behavior and a sense of
unworthiness that seemed so apparent in them. Her work at
the prison was a gift which further stimulated her interest
in the human condition—specifically how our thoughts about
ourselves create our reality.
She began to take courses in sociology, philosophy,
mythology, and religious literature. Everything, even back
then, pointed to “Change your thoughts, change your life.”
Hungering for an opportunity to experiment with some
thought-changing modalities, she delved into Buddhism,
Native American shamanism, and finally, Religious Science.
In 1979, she drove out to San Diego alone to make it her
home and to discover Terry Cole-Whittaker, a Religious
Science minister. Since then, after years of working with
people with AIDS and other life-challenging illnesses, she
decided to become a licensed practitioner.
Over the
years, she has led support groups and has worked privately
with clients throughout the San Diego area, including
Seaside Center, which is her spiritual home.
